Bring out your dead!
Bring out your dead!
…I’m not dead yet… I think I’ll go for a walk
~ Monthy Python’s Quest for
the Holy Grail
Yay, we survived! We’ve done so many firsts! But more on
that another time.
Noodle may as well have been stuffed! Nobody was interested
we had a live animal on our person and almost seemed annoyed that we kept bringing
it up! Treating the innocuous comment as some kind of annoying bee that had
decided the colour you were wearing was very attractive.
We landed feeling like lukewarm soup… that even death wasn’t
keen on… that had spilt and made a bit of a mess. After a short lesson in Dutch
pay-phones we located our taxi driver who had in fact been standing and circling
near us for the better part of 40 mins, as we all did the “do you think that’s
them?” dance!
We arrived outside our flat with Jenna (the loveliest, most
welcoming sight, to two tired foreigners) arriving soon after, with flowers for
kEda (as it was her birthday – and we had both forgotten until that very
moment!). But, the flat – oh my goodness - so beautiful! For those who didn’t
know we rented a fully furnished flat – which is FULLY furnished – right down
to the bedlinen and dishwasher tablets! We have been very lucky in that all we
have needed to purchase is an ice tray! Jenna got us going food-wise with bread and
cheese and enough advice for our sleepy minds to blissfully stuff in a
pillowcase as it made ready for a coma.
Noodle has adapted remarkably well – you would think she had
been living here her whole life and has quickly selected a few choice thrones
as she has reclaimed her ruling of queen. After all:
“in ancient
times cats were worshiped as gods; they have not forgotten this”!
~Terry Pratchett
EVERYTHING here is so clean and beautiful – security is a
non-issue and we are told even children as young as 5 ride around on their
bikes and play outside on their own with no parental supervision or watchful
eye whatsoever. It’s like some kind of weird “other” dimension! Absolutely
fabulous!
No alarms, no burglar guards, no homeless, no theft of any
kind (unless it is bicycle theft we are told that can happen) – but otherwise
rather unnervingly idyllic 😃
Whatsapp us for our new address and phone numbers. Care
packages and visits are more than welcome and rather encouraged!!!

Yay! They place looks stunning! <3
